Success of Our Self Help Groups

How can joy be celebrated with empty pockets? A major thrust has come from those several self help groups who are today economically independent which leads towards social and political empowerment.

They are the banks in themselves.

Widows of Conflict and Tradition

Of course where there is conflict, riots, turbulence, there can be no joy. Thousands of women from all our shelter homes, who are bereft of their bread winners in conflict, war, natural calamities are today empowered and they celebrate their happiness with us.

Castless, Dowryless, Integrated Marriage Ceremony

Sometimes the joy of living and sharing the joy of wedlock seems impossible due to monetary, caste, religious considerations. Since decades the Guild has made it possible for thousands of our children to celebrate the joy of families by performing expense free marriages that also eliminate the practice of dowry and promote inter caste and inter community interactions.

Launch of the Nurses Training and the Care Givers Programm

Toda's India has a large number of elderly population and at the same time a large number of children who have been orphaned due to natural calamities, war, etc.

Our joy will not be complete if they are not taken care of. Today, we launch our Nurses training programme and Care givers programme for single women that will not only benefit the women towards employment but also be a great help to the elderly and to the young.

Joy of Being Healthy

Three decades have seen women having less children, less undernourishment and malnutrition amongst children.

Polio has been totally eradicated at the centers where we work. Regular health camps, check-ups, and blood tests have made it possible for all the family members of the Guild to lead a healthy life.

Most Dishonorable Killings

How can a Nation, founded on the ideals of morality, humanity and democracy allow such dishonorable acts perpetrated under the garb of saving the "honor" of the community, caste or family?

It is a shame that India of the 21st Century is still experiencing such killings of innocent couples. Stricter laws need to be made and to be implemented effectively.

Today we celebrate and share the joy with many such couples who have been supported by the Guild in the past and are now living a life of dignity.

The Joy of Empowering Women in Panchayats

Our joy naturally doubles this year with the introduction of 50% reservation for women in local Panchayats. The Guild for many years has striven towards giving women a voice in local governance and has brought forth the leaders in many.

All these joys have been achieved and made possible with each step the Guild has taken towards Peace and Harmony in each of its programmes.
